Update: Noah & The Whale return to Basement Club, 25/10 - Headliner still TBA!
By: Thomas Hannan
Barely seems a week ago that our pal Ed Harcourt headlined our first ever Basement Club with an impromptu unplugged set before Boy George got charmingly inebriated and demanded a go on the decks, but it's actually been five years. That's cause for a celebration, which is what will take place at the Buffalo Bar on Highbury Corner in Islington, London on Thursday October 25th.
We'll be announcing our special guest headliner along with another celebrity disc jockey line up nearer the time, but for now, we'll tickle your fancy with this fine supporting bill...

NOAH AND THE WHALE: With one triumphant Basement Club set already in the bag, Noah and his Whale return after initially wowing us all with his powerful brand of contemporary folk - deft, witty and inescapably tuneful - for another go at claiming our hearts. Be prepared to tenderly embrace friends, family and folk you've never even met. MYSPACE.

ELVIIN: Fresh off the road with Jack Penate, Elviin's soulfully-tinged storytelling is part of the new wave of sterling, homegrown solo singer-songwriters that is lining London streets at the moment - Elviin also recently inked a deal with Virgin, and is set to become a big name to watch in 2008. MYSPACE.
JOSEPHINE ONIYAMA: Not dissimilar to Elviin, Josephine is a mesh between contemporary indie songwriting, being a huge fan of Iron & Wine, but also something far more traditionally aligned. Travelling from Manchester for the performance, she is also a fresh new signing - to Island records. MYSPACE.
So, that's those three, plus our special guest headliner (any guesses?), and DJing courtesy of Tom and the Rockfeedback team, along with another surprise up our sleeve. There's a lot up our sleeves these days. It becomes difficult to type.
Tickets for the event cost £7.00 and are available by emailing thebasement@rockfeedback.com, or by following the instructions on THIS PAGE, which also includes a detailed list of past line ups. They must be reserved prior to the event. Doors open at 8pm and we don't close 'em 'til late, but we heartily recommend getting there early to guarantee entry.
Happy birthday to us!
