Rockfeedback TV ep.4 - SXSW pt.1: C4, 1.10am, 18/4/08

By: Thomas Hannan

The Breeders

Tonight, part four of Rockfeedback Presents Series Two hits screens with an almighty, weighty thwack of a report from the SXSW music conference (conference? Clearly we mean p-a-r-t-y) in Texas a few weeks back.

Hawnay Troof

From 1.10am on Channel 4 (again, technically Saturday morning, but if you're getting your knickers in a twist, just don't) you'll be provided with conclusive proof that everything we've been banging on about since we got back was not in fact all a bunch of pie in the sky sky-pie - yes, we really did take Jens Lekman down to a river for exclusive solo performances (on a kalimba) of the likes of 'It Was A Strange Time In My Life' and 'The Opposite of Hallelujah', indeed we somehow managed to not drop our cameras out of sheer star struck awe when we got that close to Kim Deal of The Breeders, and yes, that is a car park that Die! Die! Die! and Hawnay Troof (that's him up there) rocked out in.

Ungdomskulen

If that wasn't enough, The Dodos, Ungdomskulen (pictured above), Yeasayer and Vampire Weekend all engage in fascinating chit chat with Rockfeedback before blowing our socks off with their own unique combinations of words, sounds and rhythms.

SXSW

What's more, it's only part one of the fun in the Texan sun - next week we'll wrap up with the final instalment of the SXSW experience. Expect MGMT, Laura Marling, the supremely wondersome Liam Finn and precisely 1,452 more bands to be featured. Do not adjust your set - music telly really can be this good.
