Coldplay Living La Vida Loca?

By: Chris Helsen

Coldplay - Viva La VidaRemember all that fuss when the artwork for Coldplay's X&Y came out? And it turned out to not be very interesting? But it still turned out to be the most interesting thing about that record? Well Chris Martin et al are at it again with forthcoming Brian Eno and Markus Dravs produced album Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends.

The newly revealed album cover features the words 'Viva La Vida' in punk-style white paint over a French Revolutionary painting by Delacroix. Whether this marks a new musical direction for Coldplay is as yet unclear, but the album does feature a song called 'Lost!' which one can only hope is about the love triangle between Jack, Kate and Sawyer. You can get a taste of the new material right now as 'Violet Hill', the first single from the new album is currently available to download for free on Coldplay's website: http://coldplay.com.

Coldplay have also announced they will be playing a free fan show either side of the Atlantic following the release of the album in June, with tickets for these concerts only available via the band's official website.
