Why not Get Loaded In The Park this August?
By: Yousif Nur
For those looking for an alternative to Reading and Leeds, but still wanting to revel in festival frolics this August, one could do a lot worse than to Get Loaded In The Park on Sunday 24th August on Clapham Common.
Cramming in a fantastic line-up, you'll gaze upon the likes of the legendary Iggy & The Stooges, (their only UK appearance this year), seminal Britpop scamps Supergrass, Gogol Bordello and very special guests, The Hives. And that's just some of the main stage. UK Beatbox champion Beardyman has just been confirmed to be the host/compere, and the XFM stage sees the best of 'now' line up for your enjoyment - Kate Nash, The Maccabees and Midnight Juggernauts amongst other acts we are particularly enthused about such as Club Rockfeedback faves Metronomy and DJ Yoda performing a VJ set (unmissable).
There'll also be a world record attempt for the total number of people doing the 'running man' dance at any one time in tribute to Utah Saints' video for 'Something Good'. And if by now you don't think that's worth the entry fee, then clearly we're missing something big.
More acts are expected to be confirmed within the coming weeks. We're also informed that tickets are selling fast for this one, so head to your ticket outlet of choice to snap some up at £35 each (alternatively, sort yourself out with one online HERE).
