STOP PRESS: Pete & The Pirates now joined by The Virgins, The All New Adventures of Us + Kill It Kid for Club Rockfeedback #7, Camden Monarch, 12/9 - Get Tix HERE

By: Thomas Hannan

After six incredible months under the Club Rockfeedback banner which have seen us bring you the likes of Foals, Black Kids, Metronomy, Four Tet and Wild Beasts of a Friday evening, the night is taking a step up to a larger venue, namely the newly refurbished, swanky as you like-looking Monarch in Camden Town (40-42 Chalk Farm Road to be precise). Still held on the second Friday of every month, we'll first be furnishing our new home with this fine assortment of revellers:

Pete and the Pirates

PETE AND THE PIRATES: Authors of some of the finest British jangle rock since The Libertines when they were all exciting and brilliant, Pete and the Pirates have a knack for proper songwriting such that it recalls bands like The Kinks and Blur rather than the tired billions of acts currently flooding the scene who seem to think they needn't delve any further back than the aforementioned Libs for inspiration. Take some tips from this lot, lads - this Reading five piece, whose album Little Death was released on Stolen Recordings this February, have been described by NME as "perfect pop without the pretence", and for once, we wholeheartedly agree with them.

The Virgins

THE VIRGINS: There can't be many virgins in a city as rock and roll as New York, perhaps the reason that this lot don't seem to be spending a lot of time in the city that birthed them (via an immaculate conception, one presumes) of late. Now finding themselves in demand all over the world, the NYC quartet have opened for the likes of Sonic Youth and Mark Ronson (what other band could have done both, one wonders?) and bring their alt-rock with added swing to the Rockfeedback stage as part of a co-presentation with our friends at The Monarch, all before supporting former Club RFB starlets Black Kids on their forthcoming US tour.

The All New Adventures of Us

THE ALL NEW ADVENTURES OF US: Recently signed to Bjork's imprint One Little Indian, The All New Adventures of Us are one of the most joyous explosions of guitars and glockenspiels and, well, all kinds of junk that you'll catch playing live at the minute. Kindred spirits number the likes of Los Campesinos!, Arcade Fire and Buttonhead - expect a billion people on a stage, all banging some different thing that may or may not be an instrument (who cares, so long as it makes a noise?) and having the time of their young lives.

Kill It Kid

KILL IT KID: Now label mates of the aforementioned T.A.N.A.O.U. as One Little Indian seemingly snap up every promising young band in the country, Kill It Kid have a brazen yet invigorating take on life that places them, even at this early stage, somewhere between such wisened company as The Black Keys and Bright Eyes. They call it "boutique burlesque blues", we call it utterly lovely.

PLUS: DJ sets from the Rockfeedback regulars, TRANSGRESSIVE RECORDS, SEARCH AND DESTROY, and a turn from the harrowingly funky SIEGFRIED SASSOON SOUND SYSTEM (SSSS).

That, and more, will take place on Friday the 12th of September 2008, from 8pm til 2am the following morn. Dress up, as the Rockfeedback cameras will be in attendance.

Tickets will set you back £7.00 in advance (more expensive on the door, if any remain - so snap 'em up) and can be purchased HERE.
