We don't like to brag at Rockfeedback (you know we're the humble sort), but we did have a little thought the other day that we've had the likes of These New Puritans, Pete and The Pirates, Foals and Wild Beasts play Club Rockfeedback shows in just the last few months alone. And, you know, we thought we'd put that out there...
So while last night (23rd Oct) saw us wave farewell to our already historic Basement Club (gosh, we're getting a hang of this arrogant thing) we welcome in the new RFB world order right here, in the shape of the continuing Club Rockfeedback. Sorry, did I say we were humble - clearly we've changed... Check out November's bill at the Camden Monarch right beneath these very words:
THE RESEARCH - This greatly adored trio from Wakefield (no not the Cribs - although there have been collaborations a plenty), this fantastic girl-boy-girl trio are real titans of British indie-pop. Since their first release three years ago, the band has spent a bit of time out of the spotlight, that is until now: realising their greatly anticipated second album next week. In short, it's a true good 'un, and their catchy, timeless, bittersweet pop songs are some for us to really cherish. This'll be all kinds of fun... www.myspace.com/theresearch

burningpilot - These folks make some fine dark but danceable post punk, and release an album on our marvellous twin label Transgressive Records next month. Anonymously known only by their mixer channels (channel 1 - drums, channel 2 - guitars, etc) they're perhaps most akin to the likes of The Stranglers or PiL with a distinctly gloomy, contemporary edge - perfect credit crunch rock!
**STOP PRESS** Gold Teeth have had to pull out after breaking every bone in each of their bodies (why Barack, why would you let such a thing happen!?). So we got this fine lot! --->
THE PITY PARTY: This two-piece from LA are currently in town playing a string of exciting dates. We said "wanna play"? They said "sure thing". Wikipedia says they're the first band without representation to score a full page feature in NME. We say they play fast and super trashy new wave pop, and do things like make limited edition hand sewn record sleeves out of recycled billboard vinyl sleeves using individualized artwork on each one. Hell yes.
Plus some fine guest DJs in the form of Sex Beat, Transgressive Records DJs, The Siegfried Sassoon Sound System (TSSSS) and our trusted Rockfeedback Regulars. Playing the best in Friday night mixtape disco, and probably the whole of Michael Jackon's Dangerous, apart from maybe 'Heal the World', because it just doesn't work however loud you play it.
That's all at the THE MONARCH, 40-42 Chalk Farm Rd, Camden, London, November 14th 2008.
Super cheap advance tix can be purchased for £6 HERE - http://www.wegottickets.com/event/38381 - otherwise a little more on the door.
