It really could happen: Blur reform for ‘09
By: Thomas Hannan

Blur are one of the reasons that Rockfeedback exists in the first place. Not only did their open minded approach to sounds outside the standard Britpop fair prove thoroughly inspiring for many of our fledgling writers deciding what to do with their lives at the time, but Rockfeedback creator Toby L and current editor Tom Hannan might not even have met if it had not been for a shared love of the work of Albarn, Coxon, James and Rowntree.
The actual story there is far too depressingly geeky to get in to, but it's for this reason that we're pretty giddy about the news announced this morning that Blur, with guitarist Graham Coxon for the first time in nearly a decade, will be playing a show this coming summer, at London's Hyde Park on Friday the 3rd of July 2009.
Speaking to NME.COM, Damon Albarn spoke of how "It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist. We'll do something in London because that seems sensible, but we're also playing in other parts of the country working up to there."
Rumour has it those 'other parts of the country' might include a headline appearance at the Glastonbury Festival - more on that, and the possibility of any new Blur material, as soon as we get it.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 9am on Friday 12th December, priced £45.00 face value, and are limited to six per person. Get 'em here, where you can also watch a video of the band talking about the reformation.
For us, this even beats the whole Barack Obama thing.
