Esser plays secret Notion mag party this week - free booze and haircuts

Friday 13th is thought of as being a day of pretty sh*tty luck. However, traditionally it was seen as a day where you would either be very unlucky, or very lucky. As chance would have it, this Friday 13th is going to be your lucky day, as Notion Magazine are promoting their 38th issue with an exclusive launch party at a secret London location. Featuring a live performance by post-apocalyptic pop poet Esser, and with free entry, free booze (yes, we did just say that), free Relentless energy drink, and free STUFF give aways, you would be crazy to miss out.

Notion is the super cool bi-monthly music// fashion// culture magazine, whose latest issue boasts an exclusive photo shoot with Esser, as well as features on Animal Collective, Fryars and Circlesquare just to name a few. It also comes with a free issue of the Hipsters' Handbook vol. 4, their sexy fashion supplement. Don't say they never spoil you.

And now the beautiful people (and sometime RFB scribe Michael Lewin) behind Notion have decided to throw a party, basically in honour of their own excellence, and are inviting you to come and hang out for free, drink their booze and watch Esser.

There are three things you should know about Esser:

1. He is signed to our sister label Transgressive;

2. He has an album coming out in May, and we would bet our best hats that it's going to be brilliant;

3. Esser describes himself thus: "When I was fairly young I managed to wear two ties to school. One on top and one underneath my shirt. But look at me now!" - we think that's brilliant.

In fact, you should look at him, as on the night there will be a "best DIY Esser quiff of the night competition", along with DJs, VJs and art installations along with some more unusual entertainments (we're not going to ruin the fun, but think baroque English fete). You can even win an Esser haircut, if you're brave. It takes some pretty good cheekbones to pull off those locks.

All this is going on at a secret location in London, so if you want to come (which, unless you are in a coma, you will) text "LAUNCH" to 88101. On the day, you will receive a message telling you where to go, et voila! Entry will be on a first come first serve basis, so if you want to take advantage of the free booze and feel smug about not spending any dollar, we would suggest heading down pretty early. We will be!
