Acoustic Ladyland, Banjo Or Freakout + late night Bass Clef set for RFB Easter Special @ The Lexington 09/04 - GET TIX HERE!
By: Dan Monsell
Is there a better venue in London town than the Lexington? We're struggling pretty hard here to find an argument that there is, and also to actually leave the place, like ever. Anyway, so what with our fantabulous new home here, two thousand 9's been all kinds of fun thus far. And there surely ain't better further kicks to be had at the beginning of April than with the UK's most notorious jazz-punks, some totally awesome noisy-popsters and some extra special guests to be confirmed playing in this lovely place. And all on the Thursday before Easter weekend with no work on the Friday! Let's get ready to rumble...
Acoustic Ladyland - One of the most consistently jaw-dropping live acts around, we're pleased to announce that the marvellous spectacle that is Acoustic Ladyand are set to come on down to blow the roof right 'offa this place for our next night. Since we first heard their debut release Last Chance Disco many moons ago, we realized right away that here is a band like no other. Featuring some of the most talented musicians in the land and boasting side-projects from the, you know, not-so-bad other groups like Polar Bear, Jade Fox, and the Mercury-nominated Basquit Strings, to name just a few, we're just saying, make sure you've got nothing in the water, as this is going to blow everything out of it. myspace.com/acousticladyland

BANJO OR FREAKOUT - Waves of fuzzed-up otherworldly stargazing sounds condensed quite perfectly into excellent gems of songs. Full of shrouded drums and echoey vocals, London based Italian Alessio (often joined by one other live), fills the space between Fourtet, My Bloody Valentine + Animal Collective yet emerges with something entirely unique and utterly mesmerizing. myspace.com/banjoorfreakout

PLUS a late night club set from BASS CLEF!! In amongst the DJs late into the eve, we present Bass Clef - The UK's finest exponent of experimental dubstep, electronica + carnival-core, Rockfeedback have been long-term fans of Hackney's trombone wielding dub-master since we saw first him bring the fun to the nth degree back at Concrete and Glass last year. We're nice and excited to announce that the he shall be stopping in for a late night set as part of our special Easter Weekend party. What the hell, it's not like any of us have to go to work on the Friday anyway, right? myspace.com/bassclefbass
DJs will be playing all manner of lovely noises in between those bands and after, getting you to dance hard into the Easter weekend with the very best in alt-pop, non-alt pop, wrong-pop and non-pop, and some samba. They're set to include some folks that very closely, if not exactly resembling Post War Years, the Siegfried Sassoon Sound System (TSSSS), Jean Claude Van Dan, DJ Famine and others.
That's all @ The Lexington - Thursday 9th April from 8pm-late. Tickets should be snapped up for £8 right here: www.wegottickets.com/event/45699
