Rockfeedback presents Graham Coxon, Pete & The Pirates + Micachu @ London Lexington, May 13th - SOLD OUT!
By: Dan Monsell

We rather like Graham Coxon. He's in this band called Blur who are really pretty good. In fact, the band are probably actually the band, in amongst quite a lot of bands we like, that led to the foundation of Rockfeedback.com (buy us a drink sometime and we'll tell you the whole story). Graham has been not only been consistently one of the best guitarists in rock music over the last 10-20 years, he's also a fine songwriter and author of (now) 7 solo albums, ranging from the charming lo-fi beginnings of The Sky Is Too High to the full frenetic pop-punk energy of Love Travels at Illegal Speeds. And now, this year, this very year whence Blur shall reform just as the Bible promised, after a whole three years away from making a record Graham Coxon releases a fantastic new album called The Spinning Top on our own sister label Transgressive Records in May.
To celebrate this wonderful record, and as part of nationwide tour of intimate venues before the album release, we're delighted to announce that Mr. Coxon will be appearing at The Lexington with his new band, showcasing material from said LP. The show will offer a remarkably cosy setting in which to hear the new songs and revel in their greatness, drink some fine bourbon and hang out in the most fantastic new venue in London town.
Support bands have just been announced as...

PETE AND THE PIRATES
Making a welcome return to a Rockfeedback night as some extra special guests for this show, we've loved Pete and the Pirates even more ever since they played a stormer when headlining back in those heady days of 2008. Full of blasts of power punk pop energy, Reading's finest (yes, we have taken into account Morning Runner, don't worry) Pete and The Pirates possess some of the most genuine, heart gripping indie-pop songs that we've been lucky to set our ears on for an age. In fact, just the thought of them makes us want simultaneously jump up and down with beer in hand AND cry our eyes out at the prospect of watching them play again. In case you miss us, we'll be at the front doing just that. Gosh, what's wrong with us?

MICACHU AND THE SHAPES
Some more firm Rockfeedback faves here, London three piece Micachu and the Shapes have already released a very strong contender for album of the year in Jewellery, and are without a doubt one of our favourite live acts around too. A band full of quirky originality and one the most unique sounding outfits in the land, Mica and co will stop in for this special show not just at the behest of us (super fans that we are), but Mr. Coxon himself is also a big supporter ever since seeing them out in Austin this year. Like the 'Pirates, they shall be doing a chunk of his regional tour too, but only we have them BOTH! Winners.
As it's a bit of special affair we'll be kicking off earlier than usual with doors at 7pm, with the first band on not long after. The show is already sold out, so if you've been lucky enough to get tickets make sure to get down there early to see one of the best line-ups we've possibly ever thrown together. As previously announced, that's all on May 13th 2009, at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road, London.
