Just when we were about to slump back in our chairs, flip our feet up on the desk and let out an exhausted sigh whilst reflecting on the eye-poppingly hectic May we've got lined up, the thought occurred: why not raise the bar even higher and host a launch party for an extra special new artist recently signed to our sister label, Transgressive?

Well that's what we've gone and bloody done, and Brooklyn's newest and finest Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson will be gracing our most cherished venue, The Lexington, to showcase his brand new (and already getting all kinds of fantastic reviews) debut album. If that wasn't enough to get you jumping out o' your chairs we've got some home-grown talent chucked into the mix. Believe - and get those lovely chops of yours around this lot on a Tuesday night in May.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson - Debut London show from a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who's set to release his debut long-player on our sister label Transgressive Records in May. We spent some fine time with the man and his band out in Austin this year, and drank some beers while they played us a few hearteningly near-perfect songs down by the river. Assisted and produced by Chris from Grizzly Bear and helped on record by Kyp Malone from TV on the Radio (who also personally distributes his records to people on his own band's tours, and tells anyone who's listening that he's the "best new songwriter in the US") it's a remarkable debut that we've listened to at least once every two days or so since we first heard it. Possessing a voice that's definitely seen the wrong side of a bottle (and heck, who knows what else) just the right amount of times, there's echoes of Bonnie Prince Billy, Willy Mason and of course Grizzly Bear here. But it's sure the case that Miles is a unique talent, and one that becomes increasingly rewarding on every listen. www.myspace.com/milesbenjaminanthonyrobinson

Sian Alice Group

Sian Alice Group - Gorgeous waves of alt-rock and free-sounding psych-folk from this wonderfully independently-spirited British group. Their recently released debut LP has received praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Filter and the NME, amongst a whole host of others. Fronted by the wonderfully talented Sian Alice and backed by a band prepared to meander off on Sonic Youth style psychedelia or stomp through some Afro-beat style rhythms, the band are set to do ATP and play dates with Deerhunter and Vetiver on both sides of the Atlantic before stopping in for a special Rockfeedback show here. www.myspace.com/sianalicegroup

Magic and Fur

Magic Fur - Brand new band from London town with a single out on the excellent Too Pure records in May. We've already done one of our Sounds on the Ground features on these fellas, but we'll remind you that they're purveyors of timeless emotive songwriting and a unique blend of orchestral pop that calls to mind the rough-round-the-edges elegance of early British Sea Power, Nick Cave and Scott Walker. Lovely. www.myspace.com/magicandfur

As usual (and fear not!) will be throwing out all kinds of aural treats before, after and in-between our whopping acts. Special guests include the wonderful Kruger magazine chaps, a Rockfeedback DJ spectacular, and probably a few more we'll rope in at some point too.

Interested? I thought so. To recap, it's all at The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road in Angel, London, on Tuesday 26th May from 8pm-late. Tickets are a paltry £6 and only one click away here - www.wegottickets.com/event/46088
