Column: rockfeedback - The Intro, Sept 2000
By: Toby L
The first of our regular articles sees us being complacent. We are here this month to talk about rockfeedback. But that's OK - this website has high hopes for music-journalism in the UK, and soon, the world. But, first, just what is this site...
'Views' gives you, the music fan, details on how you can get your reviews, articles, artwork and photos on this site - and explains the chances you have of winning prizes for doing so... 'Reviews/Articles' has, well, take a guess, but the difference between us and other sites is that we give new talent more of a chance to get their message out; giving constructive, fair reviews as opposed to snide-remarking, piss-ripping slag-offs that benefit no-one... 'Interviews' features talks with the biggest music acts of today as well as stars of yester-years and the bosses in the music-industry, from concert-agents to record-pluggers. 'Connection' offers you the chance to meet like-minded music-lovers in our chat-rooms and message-boards. You can get on our mailing-list too for priority notice of updates on the site, contests, plus priority offers that can't be revealed as yet... Plus, you can also surf to the websites on your favourite bands, from unofficial fan-produced efforts to the more plush record-company endorsed ones.
Also, why not see 'Xclusiv', which will soon shape up into the site's most exciting port-hole (details to come...). You can also take a look at the past year our already established archive of past work, but also, while you're here, take a peek at our saucy competitions, up-dated monthly, where you can win sexy, hot gear that would cost you an arm and a leg to buy otherwise. Finally, in this already massive hole in cyberspace, check out 'Outro' for further contact details and a list of those lurvely people that helped bring us into existence.
Rockfeedback, although it's new to the web, is the fruition of two years' hard work from a young chap that has had to learn fast about the quickest moving industry in the world. We're here to help you learn about the business and here to stand out from the rest - we want your help in telling us what goes on the site. We are young, vibrant and are still far from the peak of our powers. Expect rockfeedback to be changing soon... Expect it to grow... And expect celebs and you lot to write these bloody columns in future.
