Absentee
By: Thomas Hannan

We want Absentee around all the bloody time - twice booking them too woo us with their grizzly, beautiful, seedy take on alt. country and indie rock and roll at our humble (but spectacular in its way) Basement Club. The promise of their mini LP 'Donkey Stock' is fully lived up to on their more lengthy 'Schmotime', weary, knowledgeable, deftly melodic tunes every one. A biting sense of humour coupled with an ounce or two of sleaze also, which never goes amiss, does it?
