Why is this worthy of my time and money?: Well, it's the best line up for the best price you'll see all year. And we know this because we put it together.
Rockfeedback is the online partner of this week's roadshows put on by our sister label Transgressive Records. The impeccable lineup has just had The Subways added to a bill for a Manchester show which already sees The Young Knives (pictured), The Mystery Jets and Larrikin Love grace the stage, along with further shows from Battle, Polytechnic, Jeremy Warmsley and Ladyfuzz, as well as new Trans-signings Mechanical Bride and the unfathomably danceable Foals. Think a Basement Club, but in a warehouse where they used to make beer, going on until dawn.
Occurring across the weekend of Friday the 17th to the Sunday 19th November 2006, the TRANSGRESSIVE ROADSHOW is the first in a series of mammoth-sized, 1,000-capacity-plus warehouse parties that Transgressive Records is due to stage in partnership with Rockfeedback. More shows regionally will follow into 2007. It features live and DJ sets from artists old and new to the ever-multifarious, influential Transgressive Records roster, and a few surprises beyond - including decks sessions from Simian Mobile Disco, Statik, MSTRCRFT, and Eat Your Own Ears / Transgressive DJs.
The full line-up for the Manchester leg of the Roadshow dates is as follows:
THE SUBWAYS
THE YOUNG KNIVES / MYSTERY JETS
LARRIKIN LOVE
BATTLE
JEREMY WARMSLEY
LADYFUZZ
POLYTECHNIC
FOALS
MECHANICAL BRIDE
The line-up remains the same for the other Roadshows - Sheffield Plug (Sat 18th Nov, save for the addition of The Noisettes and Simian Mobile Disco as DJs, and The Subways not playing), and Leeds Uni (Sun 19th Nov, save for the addition of live-sets from Johnny Flynn and Duels, and again no Subways).
