Hello there folks and welcome to my first stab at this blog thing...

Firstly, I'd like to welcome you all to this mighty year of 2007 which in some Behind The Music special circa 2036 will surely be known as 'the year of rockfeedback'.

I hope that New Years Eve found you all out and about enjoying the occasion and not at home watching Jools Holland while your aged neighbours had a house party enviable of Little Man Tate. This year was my first time out in London for the event and after a few drinks behind the scenes of rockfeedback we ventured out to find a party that as far as we knew only existed in our beloved Toby L's mind. Armed with some bottles of booze, our scarves and a password, we endeavoured onwards... and after trying to get into the wrong 'secret warehouse' were swiftly in line at the correct site, getting in just moments before the ball dropped as it were.

Several cans later and a few members down we called it a night [note the lack of detail] heading back out into the wilderness of uncharted London, cold, bushed, kebab ready and desperate for a taxi. Alas, our leader found this mythical taxi rank that he's promised us and we made it home safely, or rather back to his where some cups of tea and stumbled conversation were had until the first trains of the morning.

So, I find myself in 2007 hoping to maintain this random sequence of music, drink and good company and look forward to a rollercoaster year... as no doubt everybody else here does.

There are a few things I'm chiefly giddy about in '007 besides the inevitable rise of rockfeedback. For one, there are some first class albums on their way from the likes of Klaxons, Battle, Feeder, Kubichek! and Performance among others which I'm sure will adorn my CD player for many a month. Also, some immense gigs are happening including quite possibly the greatest live band on the planet, Arcade Fire, who are playing live in London. I'll be heading back to Stoke of course for a week or so in February/March to check out the likes of iForward, Russia!, Patrick Wolf and Little Man Tate alongside some of the more paramount new talent that the north has to offer in the shape of Stokes finest local bands.

I'm always up for a gig, especially if it's somebody I've never heard, so make sure you drop me a mail if there's somebody you think we here at rockfeedback should know about... I wont bite you know, unless you're covered in cake.

Until next time friends; love not riots my young believers.
