Why is this worthy of my time and money?: Because you miss Arab Strap. They don't exist anymore. You want the next best thing. Well, if you want the next best thing, you go and see Low or something like that. If you want the next, arguably better thing, you go see Malcolm Middleton. His remarkable current solo effort leaves us in no doubt that the man set apart from his former band is at least equally enthralling, and devoid of studio trickery a live setting should provide an arena for the characteristically cutting sentiments that pervade his every utterance to have their utmost effect.
