Why is this worthy of my time and money?: You'd be forgiven for thinking Late of the Pier actually formed last week, what with their omnipresence on most lists detailing bands to watch out for in 2008. But here's a band who, although they're yet to release their debut LP, have been plying their own skewed take on dance rock for a good while now. Whilst this means the broadsheets have indeed got it wrong as to their status as fresh faced performers, it also means that when you turn up at a Late of the Pier gig, you get something that all other bands on those lists certainly aren't - an act who are both invigoratingly fresh and the finished article.
