Rockfeedback @ The Camden Crawl ‘08

By: Thomas Hannan

Camden Crawl

The Red Stripe Camden Crawl are gearing up to get you all hot under the collar about those two April days; drip feeding us line-up additions and various other titbits. Before all that though some news close to home: Rockfeedback and sister label Transgressive will be co-hosting at The Underworld over both days, so don't miss the chance to come along and catch some of our (and hopefully your) favourite bands. With Future of the Left, Lykke Li, Cage The Elephant, Elle S'appelle, The Noisettes, Kode 9, Johnny Flynn and Esser all set to appear, we're pretty confident it'll not only rock, but roll, too.

Blurring the line between spectator and performer this year sees a couple of additions which will hopefully give you the chance to be seen and heard by your fellow Crawlers. First up is the Red Stripe Busking Session which - surprise surprise - is a dedicated busking venue. Putting on acts from noon until six the line-up will consist of those of you bold enough to turn up and put your face about on the day. It'll be a strictly first come first served affair except for the first two opening slots for which you'll need to register at redstripe.net.

Next is the Red Bull Bedroom Jam. Sadly this now appears to be closed to new additions but it will feature artists from the Bedroom Jam network - an online platform from which budding musicians can 'perform' to a potentially limitless audience. Along side these acts there will be two bands who have already made that leap from bedroom to stage: Los Campesinos! and Bombay Bicycle Club.

This is to be hosted in an outdoor venue (somewhere behind Zensai on Inverness Street) and will be open to under-18s. If, due to your age, you are unable to get a ticket for the Crawl then you'll need to check out the website to register for the guest list. If you wanted to chance your hand with the hundreds of other hopefuls then that's also the place to get involved with the Jam Network - and maybe we'll be seeing you at a Camden Crawl sometime in the future.

Until then we'll have to satisfy ourselves with performances from the following artists:

The Answering Machine / Bobby Cook / Cage The Elephant / Thecocknbullkid / The Creepy Morons / Crystal Castles / Does It Offend You, Yeah? / Elle s'appelle / Fanfarlo / Florence and the Machine / Future of the Left / Haunts / Ida Maria / Ipso Facto / Johnny Flynn / Johnny Foreigner / Ladyhawke / Lets Wrestle / Lo-Fi Fnk / Los Campesinos! / Lovvers / Lykke Li / Make Model / Metronomy / Noah and the Whale / One Night Only / Operator Please / Royworld / Sky Larkin / Slow Club / Sam Isaac / Sam Sparro / Stricken City / Tellison / This City / The Wave Pictures / Wild Beasts

The Red Stripe Camden Crawl takes place on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th of April 2008. Tickets are available now, HERE.
