Why is this worthy of my time and money?: Everyone likes an intense live show. I think that, no matter what someone's doing, if they're doing it like it might be the last thing they ever do with their lives and their scared of spending eternity burning in hell if it's not deemed impressive enough by the gods of alternative rock, then it's probably worth watching in concert, even if it might suck granny-balls on record. What's interesting about Fucked Up, rude name aside (swear words are still funny when you're 23, promise), is that they're both one of the most intense visual spectacles you're likely to capture on the toilet circuit at the minute, AND they're one of the most inventive also. Yes, people keep banging on about 'Year of the Pig's exhilarating eighteen minutes of brilliance, but there's a lot more where that came from. It seems at least one band were listening to Black Flag and actually got it.
