Why is this worthy of my time and money?: If we had our way, all guitar bands would have as much of a desire to not sound like anyone else as Born Ruffians. Their particularly distinct brand of polyrhythmic confusion, rampant yelping and catchy choruses has on many an occasion in the past few months prompted us to utter sentences unto our friends that suggest their debut LP Red, Yellow and Blue might be the finest record released this year. Seeing them live, where each pound of every drum is filled with as much joy as you hoped for upon hearing the record, only furthers our suspicions that might really be the case.
