Why is this worthy of my time and money?: On a recent trip to Germany for the purposes of documenting the MELT! Festival for Rockfeedback TV (returning to Channel 4 in the coming weeks - details with you imminently), we learnt a few things about Fujiya and Miyagi. One - their name is a combination of a brand of record player and a character in The Karate Kid. Two - though from their name they sound like they should originate from Japan and in their music suggest that they might be right at home chilling out with James Murphy in a New York club, they're actually four very nice, normal guys from Brighton who make incredible, dark, funky electro music (exemplified on their new lp Lightbulbs). Three - that they're actually an incredible live band is the best kept secret in the country, one we're happy to blow their cover on with the following recommendation - go see this band.
