Rockfeedback @ Winchester Live with Youthmovies, Absentee, Post War Years, Sam Isaac - 13/10/08
By: Dan Monsell
As if you could just hold us within the realms of the M25 (we mean London). Well you couldn't; so Club Rockfeedback is headed down to glorious university town of Winchester next week not just to hang about and enjoy the fresh air, no, to put on a five band BONANZA as part of Winchester Live festival - a week of events in that fair town featuring the likes of Art Brut, Thomas Tantrum, Emmy the Great, Die! Die! Die! and more. Our bill is a special Rockfeedback curated event for the opening night of the festival, and it's happening at The Vault, a really amazing building in Winchester University. If you live nearby, we encourage you to get yourselves down for this one, and if not, why not make it a nice little day-trip or something...
Here's what we gots for you:

YOUTHMOVIES
With the release of their exquisite debut album "Good Nature" earlier this year, 2008 has seen youthmovies finally reaching some of the widespread recognition that they've long deserved. This is a band that has demonstrated that real originality appears to be the key to real longevity and success. Surely one of the most compelling, progressive and interesting live bands playing in the country today. They've not only got great pop in crazy time signatures, there are trumpets too...

ABSENTEE
All hail Absentee, a band that warm our souls and delight our ears more and more every time we see them. The London based quartet have just released their third (James Ford produced) LP Victory Shorts on the wonderful Memphis Industries, and once again their backs are nearly breaking under the strain of critical acclaim. We absolutely love 'em, and we reckon you'll love their glorious country infused indie-pop too. It sure us hard not too...

POST WAR YEARS
A band we've been delighted to have had play Rockfeedback live events before, Post War Years are one of the best new bands around - simple as. Just fresh off a tour with White Lies, this mind bendingly good foursome from London make some of the best electronica infused pop music we've heard in some time. We'd wager that they'll be super, super big in the not so distant future.

SAM ISAAC
A genuine indie cottage industry, Sam Isaac has risen to prominence without a record deal. Isaac's as DIY as can be - he recording the tunes himself, with friends helping with packaging and distribution. Perhaps the high point of his career thus far has been a performance at The Electric Proms, and he's currently on a nationwide tour with full band playing to what is now a swelling devoted fanbase.

+ LUKE LEIGHFIELD
Luke Leighfield is a twenty-year-old piano pop troubadour from Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, UK. He has released two albums, a split 10" single with Sam Isaac and recently reached number 7 in the Indie charts with 'If You Haven't Got Anything to Say, Don't Say Anything at All' after being championed by Radio 1's Huw Stevens. He has also played piano/violin for Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Jay Jay Pistolet and many more.
