Why is this worthy of my time and money?: We might have to all start owning up to the fact that the Brewis brothers are some of the most important musicians our country has going at the moment. How come? Well, not only are the witty poppisms of their conjoined Field Music effort a constant delight (one we were happy to host at our very own Basement Club a few years back), but it's becoming more and more apparent that everything they touch has a habit of turning a little gold. After one Brewis brother, David, released the highly acclaimed School of Language album earlier this year, brother Peter has followed suit with something that is, in the shape of The Week That Was, arguably the finest Field Music related release so far. The strong probability that in all likelihood they're already plotting forming yet another band who sound completely different is as much cause for celebration as the fact that they are currently embarking on what should be one heck of an interesting tour. If it's interesting guitar pop you want, it doesn't come much more intriguing than this.
