Why is this worthy of my time and money?: Every movement needs its poster boy band if it's to break in to the mainstream, and for the genre of noise, where the likes of Wolf Eyes, Smegma, Black Dice and countless others have been making awesome (sound)waves for years, HEALTH could well be it. HEALTH, y'see, certainly look f**king cool - their t shirts recently replaced those of buddies Crystal Castles on the scenester elite of East London, for one thing. But this isn't a frivolous exercise in style over substance - no, it's more like the emergence of The Clash and the Sex Pistols once the New York Dolls, Ramones and Velvet Underground had laid all the foundations of punk for them already. HEALTH live, when at their best, generate levels of excitement that are comparable both in terms of artistic skill and finger on the pulse relevance to any of the other bands in this paragraph. Special, then.
