Why is this worthy of my time and money?: We count Deerhoof as one of the most important bands of our age. Putting our neck on the line here, but what the hell - along with bands like Animal Collective and Dirty Projectors, we reckon history will look back on bands like Deerhoof in the noughties as being artists who actually helped - who, with the largely uncategorisable music they've made, have actually helped guitar music. Live, it's necessarily not the lavish affair of their lusciously playful studio output, but the astounding musicianship and infectious good humour with which their peculiar yet life affirming songs are delivered cannot be witnessed in any finer way.
