Well, somebody's obviously a Springsteen fan. It's just the shame that 'Born in the You-hoo-Kay-ay-ay' doesn't really work on quite as anthemic a level as The Boss's assertion of his own place of birth. Maybe that's because it still feels weird to actually take pride in the place.
Perhaps this is what Morrissey meant then when he dreamt of a time when we'd be 'standing by the flag not feeling shameful or racist'. Here's Damon Gough's ode to everything that he considers great about the United Kingdom, from Wimbledon to the Silver Jubilee, a narrative that stops off in the Eighties, deems it to be rubbish, and slaps its country on the back for managing to build something out of the nothing of Thatcher's rubble.
It's 'Rule Britannia' in a knitted hat, basically. Let's all have a gander:
