The Magic Numbers - London, UK, Summer 2004
By: Toby L
Thanks to all those that attended the completely rammed-out rockfeedback / Glasto hi-jack party at The Diesel Rooms - a thoroughly surreal night.
Even though The Magic Numbers sadly couldn't perform in the end (Romeo - hope your throat heals), the band and very special guests DJ-ed and danced long into the night (and bassist Michele demonstrated her debut drumming performance on the provided drumkit). 6:30am we finished in the end.The Chemical Brothers, Tabitha/Queens Of Noize, rockfeedback's own Sam Hall/Goldierocks and Channel Four's Sean Rowley helped man the decks, whilst in attendance were several glam types like Kiera Knightley. Madness. View photos here, or read some kind feedback from fans that won tickets at The Magic Numbers' site here. Hopefully we can do it again next year in some form.
Original story / contest as follows.
You read it correctly - this year at the sold-out Glastonbury Festival (24-26/6/2005), rockfeedback is hosting a private party, after hours, featuring a slew of exclusive live performances and DJ-sets.
On the Saturday night, post-Coldplay, from 11pm 'til late, rockfeedback hi-jacks The Diesel Rooms: a unique, six-roomed structure which appears just off-site at the Winding Lake Farm (ten minutes walk from the Pyramid Stage). Recent top-20 debutants, and long-time rockfeedback pals The Magic Numbers are co-curating and headlining the evening with a live-set, which will also see one other special guest live-set (from an artist still to be announced). Various friends and guest names are set to man the decks, meanwhile. There will be bars, chill-out / seated areas and visuals.
Indubitably, the party is strictly invite-only, but The Magic Numbers' official website - click here - and us at rockfeedback have very limited tickets up for grabs to festival attendees. All you need to do to potentially attend this special function is fill in the form here and specify the code-name 'Glasto'. We'll be in touch if you win a pair of wristbands. Please note: we're not able to offer weekend tickets to the festival itself - just this party. So please ensure you're already attending Glastonbury if you wish to revel in the late-night action we can boast on the Saturday.
