GAGGLE – We're proud to announce 22 piece all female choir Gaggle will release their debut single ‘Drunk’ through our sister-label Transgressive Records – and we’re celebrating the fact with a gig at St Giles-In-The-Field Church (just off Denmark Street, behind Centre Point). Live Gaggle appear in matching colourful robes conducted by band leader Deboarah Coughlin, layering dubstep-infused electronic backing beats as a backdrop to the choruses of gorgeous vocals. Forming at East London’s George Tavern (a place they still practice weekly) at the beginning of this 2009, Gaggle’s quickly spreading appeal has led to them being one of the hotly tipped groups for 2010, amassing a huge collection of press, including a full page feature in this year’s NME’s future 50 feature.
"The most extraordinary band I've heard in a long time, called Gaggle... With a name like Gaggle they're going to be good, right? They are. They're brilliant. YOU HAVE BEEN GAGGLED." - HUW STEPHENS, BBC - Radio 1
“Gaggle - the most exciting, innovative and genuinely imaginative force at large in music right now. More infectious than a mnemonic plague (ahem) and going off with the full force of Blondie's 'Atomic', they sound like 10,000 MIAs - and we bet they don't kiss nice."
NME
"They sound absolutely wonderful on air but are something you want to experience live"
LAUREN LAVERNE, BBC Radio 6
"People normally use words like “cabal” and “coven” to describe groups of women – gaggle seems like a cooler word though. There are 22 members of Gaggle – London’s only sci-fi riot choir.” - Vice
+ TOO YOUNG TO LOVE - Italy's Too Young To Love make celestial electronica soundscapes for dreamy days with heads lost aimlessly in the clouds. Full of deep introspection, this quartet take spiritual sounds and combine them with ethnic moods and tribal rhythems. Widely heralded as one of the most exciting new groups to emerge from Italy in recent times, this visit sees them begin the evening with their own blend of otherworldly sounds akin to the likes of M83 and 80s electronica pioneers, opening the eve as close friends of Gaggle's.
