Rockfeedback is delighted to be co-promoting, along with our friends at Xbox, the fourth in their ongoing series of Xbox Reverb gigs. So far we sorted it for Dananananaykroyd to tear up Birmingham, Pulled Apart By Horses to pull apart Leeds and Esser to bring the bounce to Colchester, each night kicking off in its own unique fashion. This time, it’s the turn of everyone’s tip for 2010 greatness, Ellie Goulding, to show Cardiff exactly what she’s made of.
In case you missed the first couple, here’s the low-down: Xbox Reverb is a series of free nationwide gigs brought to you by Xbox, featuring and curated by bands and their fans, who are involved in everything from voting on the venue to coming up with posters, t shirts and on-the-night DJ sets.
Ellie Goulding – winner of the BBC Sound of 2010 poll and absolutely everywhere right now, as you’ll probably have noticed – will be playing the fourth of these shows at the Cardiff Arts Institute on the 4th of February 2010.
We recently filmed Ellie and her band in session at the Rockfeedback offices for a piece detailing the ins and outs of the gig – check back here in a few days time for that, but in the meantime, get involved in the Xbox Reverb community, where you’ll find information on how to get down to this and other forthcoming shows, as well as videos of all past gigs, opportunities to stick your oar in on the ins and outs of the night, and a healthy dose of good old fan on fan banter.
Plus there's support on the night from two breaking new bands: excellent London synth pop trio CHEW LIPS and futurtistic electro sounds from WOLF GANG. Plus BBC introducing Wales' DJ Bethan Elfyn will be DJing.
