After a hugely memorable Christmas party back in December last year featuring Peggy Sue and Local Natives, we return to the Albert Embankment on the Thames for a special, intimate night with The Soft Pack.

From San Diego but now based in Los Angeles CA, the 20-something quartet originally known as The Muslims, which features Matt Lamkin on vocals, co-founder Matty McLoughlin on guitar, David Lantzman on bass and Brian Hill on drums, create a fresh, razor-sharp, no-frills sound. Their fiercely infectious, stripped-down garage rock songs has long since stayed strongly lodged on our stereos since they first appeared at the Lexington at the beginning of 2009 - one of Rockfeedback's live promotion highlights of last year. Their shows are sweaty affairs, with a pulse-raising rock n roll swagger that the press have succinctly described as “no bullshit”. The band have recently released their classic 30 minute debut album (recorded in under a month in New York City with Eli Janney, once of 90s alternative rock behemoths Girls Against Boys) and stop in here after a recent sold-out European tour for a celebratory show aboard the docked Tamesis boat, on the Albert Embankment of the London Thames.
'The most exciting young band in America right now’ Rough Trade
‘Melding with the brittle charms of The Modern Lovers and Wire with a muscular garage-rock dynamism’ **** Mojo

Music born out of the terrifying place where Essex meets London, young duo SB make a visceral, unvarnished blend of blues and punk, underpinned by rich narratives and resolute melodies, and informed by McGuinness and drummer Brendan Heaney's admiration for The Clash, Television and The Ramones. Sitting atop many tips for 2010 lists, they stop in here fresh off both Huw Stephen's new music tour and after being handpicked to support Los Campesinos nationwide.

S is for Surf, Sixties and Sense of Humour, this London trio have been making waves with their future-facing London sixties beat and white costumes to boot. A foot in the past but heads facing forward in a timeless rock and roll bubble of psychedelic innovation, it's certainly live where the band very much come into their own.
