We return to Brighton for another year for The Great Escape ! This year we're at Concorde 2 in association with our sister label Transgressive, with arguably our best line-up ever at the event!

Our headliners this year are The Walkmen. Highly esteemed Indie-rock titans from New York, by way of New Jersey and Philadelphia, newly signed to Fat Possum, the band has recently been in the studio with Chris Zane to record their sixth studio album proper, and the follow-up to the critically lauded "You and Me". This trip sees them make a pit-stop for a special headline slot at Great Escape, whilst in the country to play ATP at the invite of curators Pavement. One of the gems of a fine new wave of indie rock bands to emerge out of New York in the noughties, the Walkmen already possess a rich tapestry of work under their belts already, encompassing everything from brooding melancholy and off-kilter pancahe to late night dancefloor filling indie-pop (albeit it with an angst and story not dissimilar to intellectual rock and pop forebearers The Smiths.)

A dance rock fight party? Hardcore pop? The most fun ever? You could try describing Pulled Apart By Horses a number of ways, but the latter of those three seems the most accurate to us. Formed in Leeds in late 2007 after the break-up of previous bands like Concentration Champ, It Takes Bridges, Monster Killed By Laser and Mother Vulpine, Pulled Apart By Horses are quite frankly one of the most exciting live bands Rockfeedback have ever had our eyes popped out of their sockets by. Newly signed to Transgressive, their debut LP drops in June this year.

Gaggle are a 20 girl strong alt indie choir. Formed as a response to boring man bands, bad burlesque and a means to find an alternative place for women in music that doesn't involve drinking yourself to death out of boredom or anxiety. Bold, big and scary -- Gaggle are both a wonder to behold and an exciting, innovative musical proposition. Signed to Transgressive Records, they released their debut "I hear Flies" to widespread acclaim in February this year. Live, Gaggle appear in matching colourful robes conducted by band leader Deboarah Coughlin, layering dubstep-infused electronic backing beats behind a chorus of chanting, piercing vocals.
