We're proud to announce that our sister label Transgressive Records is set to release the debut LP in June by the hip-cracking, venue-destroying Pulled Apart By Horses. This here sees a special album launch show brought to you by us and our pals Kilimanjaro at the legendary 100 Club to celebrate.

Formed in Leeds in late 2007 after the break-up of previous bands like Concentration Champ, It Takes Bridges, Monster Killed By Laser and Mother Vulpine, Pulled Apart By Horses are quite frankly one of the most exciting live bands Rockfeedback have ever had our eyes popped out of their sockets by. Numbering Tom Hudson on shouts and guitar, James Brown (James Brown!) on guitars, Lee Vincent on Drums and Robert Lee (who once played in the midfield for West Ham and Newcastle – right?) on bass, these little genii hail from Leeds and play louder than a hundred gramophones on full blast directly to the ear-drum. If you’re still not convinced, then click to check a moving thingy of them playing a Lexington show for Club Rockfeedback a few moons back. If you’re already converted, jump on over to Transgressive for a free download of their Live at Leeds album. This will be a memorable rock monster of a need-to-be-there gig to remember. Pumped.

Mad as they come, we present some proper crazy Japanese rock in these latest Stolen Recordings signings now based in the UK. Bo Ningen are everything you want from a proper new wave Japanese rock band. Embracing the Pysch tendencies of Acid Mothers Temple and the mental punk of the likes of Polysics, Bo Ningen have quite rightly caused a stir in recent times.

According to site Leedsmusicscene.net "Chickenhawk formed in Leeds during a random jam one lazy Sunday afternoon in late 2004". This is probably the most inapposite and misleading way anyone could ever describe the godless, filthy, avant garde, terrifying Dillinger-gone-more-epic ROCK that these four men from Leeds make. Chaotic and ordered, brash and smart, heavy and danceable (in a "lose all control of your limbs and bodily functions" kind of way), their individual brand of intense, earth destroying riff based heaviness has been called "the antithesis of commercial metal", combining frenetic hi-hats with fret tapped guitars and a-tonal bass lines. Chickenhawk are a mess of contradictions - their name could come from an American form of slander used against a politician who supports a war but has never served in active duty, or from a term that refers to gay men with a predilection for young boys - either way, the antithetical space that they inhabit has created some of the most exciting, heavy and intelligently loose music around in Britain right now.
