Kid Adrift is the musical moniker of 21-year-old named Iain Campbell from Clackmannanshire, central Scotland. A bedroom music creation melding the glitchy electronic sounds of the Aphex Twin with the shuddering grandeur of Muse or other space-facing progressive pop penchants. Live Campbell becomes the guitarist and vocalist in a four piece band - a shuddering proposition if a recent BBC session is anything to go by. After a huge buzz and the championing of everyone from radio 1 to the a significant proportion of the music press, Island are releasing a hugely anticipated debut single in June. This sees a special single launch gig in London for a very exciting new artist.
With the smooth, drowsily measured delivery of Roots Manuva, Ghostpoet's own confessional brand of horizontal streets and cracked nights is like thedirty whipping tail of your every last night drinking. Mellow but anxious and threaded with a disquieting sense of unease, wraithlike melodic harmonies writhing between the toes of the tongue stuck beats. Sweetened on record by Mica "Micachu and the Shapes" Levi's gorgeous harmonies and playful sense of production, live his use of Kaoss pad loops, twisted vocal samples and live drums/guitar bring an element of openness to what is essentially a very private record.

Self-referred as "Pop Music's Evi Twin", Psychologist is Iain Woods - a young electronic musician (and a former young musician of the year award winner) blending dub, grime and gospel into an innovative futuristic sprawl of musicaln splendour. Embracing everything from Bing Crosby, neo-classical sounds and MIA, Woods is bacled a full multi-instrumenal live band, making Psychologist a young and very exciting prospect to the London music scene
