This sees a special co-headline tour and (and dare we say potentially era-defining hook-up?!) between two very exciting new bands carrying the torch for thoughtful new British pop music. This is a special Friday night party show of a London date at our Lexington home, and we recommend you be quick on those tickets to avoid disappointment. This show is now SOLD OUT - but we have added a second date due to demand here

FRANKIE AND THE HEARTSTRINGS

The Sunderland five-piece, who played their debut London headline show at the 100 Club on 3rd June to a packed-out crowd, are currently grafting away on their debut album in a cellar somewhere in Sunderland. Coming across all mitten-wearing indie-pop romantics clutching Smiths cassettes meets Dexys on Top Of the Pops in Eighties, this fashionable fivesome channel possess a timeless pop arsenal carefully constructed out of their evidenly sizeable vinyl collections as big as their catchy-as-colds hooks. Check out the band’s own label and archive PopSex Ltd http://popsexltd.com to revel in their old school fan boy greatness, releases and request free stuff such as mp3s, mixtapes, one-off DVDs, podcasts, downloads and more.

“The UK’s most dashing new pop group” – NME

“Their stomping sound – which is surely scientifically impossible to dislike – dips into Dexys circa Searching for the Young Soul Rebels, mid-period Clash, 60s pop, Orange Juice, northern soul, romance and literature without loitering anywhere.” – The Guardian

SUMMER CAMP

It's hard not to be instantly charmed by Summer Camp's idyllic, infectious love songs where distortion-wrapped boy/girl vocals innocently swoon and swoop over heavenly guitars and synths. Perfectly formed and steeped in aching nostalgia for hazy aural enjoyment, their instantly effective pop pick-me ups are the sound of summer love and the perfect backdrop to dance into the night with limbs flailing, or hands tucked shyly away in pockets. Whilst we witnessed a fresh and exciting group at their recent sell-out debut show and single launch, Recent performances have seen the band grow into a disco-floor filling pop beast with echoes of Blondie and The Cars; full of indie pop nods to the likes of Camera Obscura or Belle and Sebestian. A packed calender of festival appearances will culminate in a second single release on Moshi Moshi, before this exciting tour sees them hit the road with like-minded upstarts F&THS.

"Eschew all those gaudy tastemaker lists of Ones to Watch – the band of 2010 is here." - The Guardian

THE NEAT

Signed to Chewing Gum Records, the label started by Kaiser Chiefs Nick and Simon, Hull's The Neat are a monster of New Wave, rock and roll and mid-80s indie with nods to everyone from The Fall to Bauhaus. "Writing an original rock track often depends on one simple twist, and with In Youth is Pleasure The Neat have invented some kind of bizare new drum pattern. Is it grime 'n' bass? Is it Acid techno? Who knows but by adding a B-52S-style vocal and an adrenalin gland's worth of urgency, the results are obscenely brilliant." Artrocker  “Latter day Fall jostling with the XX Teens; the drums pound along mercilessly, while the sinewy guitar sounds like it’s been exhumed from 1979 and the dry staccato vocals stab mantras through the flailing body. Neat Neat Neat" Steve Lamacq
