BATHS

For mercurial L.A. music-maker Will Wiesenfeld, Baths has been a long time coming. Over the last six years, under the handle of [Post-Foetus], Wiesenfeld has gainfully explored the intersections and outer reaches of both electronic and acoustic music. With Baths, his eclecticism finds its greatest focus yet, in a hail of lush melodies, ghostly choirs, playful instrumentation and stuttering beats.n a fit of inspiration, Baths was born, though not into a preexisting scene. As is to be expected, this music goes its own way: fueled by spontaneity, tempered by Wiesenfeld's background in classic songwriting. Those two influences collide in glorious ways on Cerulean, Baths' stunning debut, recently released to rave reviews on Anitcon records. This sees a hotly anticipated debut UK visit.

"The pop voice that the L.A. beathead scene never realized it needed."
PITCHFORK

"What makes Baths stand out from the rest of the beats scene are the fine details and personal touches that colour each song." DROWNED IN SOUND

BECOMING REAL

Becoming Real, or Toby Ridler as he's known to his nearest and dearest, burst on the fast emerging london dance scene last year alongside other new school UK electronica luminaries such as Dam Mantle and Gold Panda. With his debut release selling out in minutes, a second record put out by the highly acclaimed RAMP recordings and Toby himself becoming well known for impressive DJ sets all around the major cities, this see's Becoming Real step out from behind the decks and onto the stage having already played a string of well received live shows. All of this has heralded Brecoming Real's blend of laptoptronica and live exciting beats (live as a two piece) to ensuring he's one of the most talked about and important artists of 2010. Be sure to catch him before it all blows up in the best way possible.

D/R/U/G/S

Manchester / London duo D/R/U/GS are an invigorating part of what's not a burgeoning new outwardly-reaching electronica scene in the UK. Where as often complex-working beats and glitchy sounds get lost live when they bounce high in a recording setting, D/R/U/Gs come to life in a venue small or large, creating either a dark world under a venue roof, or take flight into propulsive dance force. Unsurprisingly they find themselves a very hot proposition at present, with sets at their hometown In the City event recently opening them up to an wider spectrum of hype and attention.

At times, they verge on the brooding brilliance of the witch house movement, but remain smart enough to bring their own innovations to the table. Crucially, they don’t ever lose the attention of the audience or segue into masturbatory shows of technicality; their half hour set a breathless sprint through the material that, if record label bosses have even an ounce of sense, surely must be the basis for an upcoming release. Line of best fit
