First catapulted to attention on the back of gorgeously wistful and infectious tracks such as “Go Outside”, which appeared online earlier this year (and which was then released as an instantly sold out 7” single on Forest Family Records in the US), the band blend classic 50 chart-toppers with 80s big shoulder-padded pop, and the "Cults 7" introduced a band weaving the sound and catchy hooks of the Shangri Las or Ronnettes into a fresh modern context of new wave indie-pop hits. Cults have been slowly and steadily cementing their position as one of the most exciting new faces to watch for 2011, with raucously received shows at CMJ and subsequent tracks such as “Oh My God” and “Most Wanted” proving that they have more than enough talent and pop nous to back up the hype. Currently producing their own album, having signed to Columbia, along with the renowned Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, M.I.A) on board as engineer, the results are eagerly anticipated to put their mark on next year's sounds. This see their first UK visit, and an eagerly anticipated trip for a band seemingly set to rocket high next year
“Frothy and bittersweet pieces of perfectly designed lo-fi pop.” Pitchfork
“Like a conjugal Carpenters raised on punk and surf rock, bearing their Motown-worshiping teeth and the casual Jim Jones sample.” Stereogum

Sand, sea and surf-inspired songs from a rundown Victorian paradise, Two Wounded Birds bring the sound of Margate summers brimming over with the classic sounds of Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, Cash, Elvis, Motown and classic billboard pop. Despite only forming in the late summer of 2008, the band have already toured Europe with The Drums and received BBC6 playlisting for their excellent single “My Lonesome”. Led vocally by Johnny Danger with his soft voice blending in perfect harmony with the rest of his troop, the band occasionally move into a darker and more introspective territory. A classic and timeless proposition all round, Two Wounded Birds appear headed for big things, with the likes of Huw Stephens already playing tracks on repeat.
