Drake - ‘Too Much (Feat. Sampha)’ (Watch)

Check a live performance of Drake's new track on Jimmy Fallon

Drake debuted new track ‘Too Much’ from the much-anticipated Nothing Was The Same on Jimmy Fallon last week, with his despondent shtick showing no sign of abating. But what could easily have turned into a forgettable filler track is transformed into something else entirely with the inclusion of South London crooner Sampha.

With heads initially turned by his duet ‘Valentine’ with Jessie Ware a couple of years ago, he has steadily built a reputation as a talented singer and producer in his own right, following collaborations with Koreless, Lil Silva and SBTRKT and recently released a new EP, Dual, through Young Turks.

Completely stealing ‘Too Much’, not just from a musical but also performative perspective on Fallon, Sampha’s melancholic singing nevertheless serves as a soothing counterpoint to Drake’s introspective verses.
