Isle of Wight based singer-songwriter takes our FACT FILE questionnaire
FACT FILE is a quick Q&A intro to the emerging acts that just might go on to become your new favourites. Today, we hear from singer-songwriter Lauran Hibberd ahead of her show at The Lexington:
What's the best gig you've ever been to?
Supporting Hippo Campus on tour was incredible, the most amazing live set every night. So it has to be that!
Describe your music for someone who's never heard it
If pop was louder and scarier, and lyrically more demanding. I’d go with pop, maybe even rock, maybe it’s even indie.
What was the last book you read?
I actually read Lily Allen’s – My Thoughts Exactly, and took a lot from it as a girl in the music world.
What's the hardest song you've ever written?
An unreleased song called Shark Week. I was mad sad around that time and I kinda didn’t realise. Now every time I play it I lose my head a little.
Vinyl, CD or digital?
If you could be another person for one day, who would you be and why?
Phoebe Bridgers, so I could look in the mirror and sing at myself for 24 hours straight.
When was your worst hangover?
Probably last year, I went to see Courtney Barnett in London and I was shakey as hell.
Who is the best band in the world?
Weezer from 1994 - 2005
What good band has the worst name?
Leave a question for the next band
What’s the first thing you do when you come off stage?
