Grimes has always been known for her impressive film work but she may well have gone and made the weird-pop video of the year. The Canadian producer has taken her cues from some interesting sources for the clip with inspiration coming from Jean Paul Gaultier’s ‘trash-can glamour’, Jamie Hewlett’s ‘Tank Girl’ and Hieronymus Bosch’s painting ‘The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things’ all making for a surreal and fascinating video set in the relatively blank canvas of the Californian desert. It’s yet another impressive move from Grimes and serves as a reminder of the exciting artistic strength of the whole project. Watch the video for ‘Genesis’ below.
