HOMETOWN: Trudy and the Romance’s Merseyside Playlist

04 Jan 2018

Trudy and the Romance select their favourite Merseyside artists

There's a load of brilliant new music coming out of Liverpool currently. Local lads Trudy and the Romance were kind enough to pick some of their favourite for us. Have a listen!

Pink Kink - Munchie Magic
Our lovely mates PK recently put this tune out; we've probably heard it 100 times live and still dig it so it's certified goodness

Her's - I'll Try
Sexy boys with gorgeous songs; this is our favourite Her's tune I reckon - you can catch Lew and I crying into our pints belting the chorus at the next Her's show, baby

The Orielles - Let your Dogtooth Grow
Obviously The Orielles are Best Band and this is their latest single which we love (the video is amazing as well); excited to play with this lot in April on Lew's birthday and the inevitable boogy after ;P

Beach Skulls - In the Dark
These guys supported us in Manchester a few months back; their sweet 50's Garage vibe is some of the best ish to come out of Liverpool in recent years we reckon; lovely boys as well

Broom of the System - Ballgag
We lived with Julia in Liverpool before she flew back to the US and she recorded this track and others while she was here. This song is my fave - the intro is gorgeous. Also features amazing lyrics such as "the void in my mouth is yours to fill" - enjoy, baby

Nelson - Black and Blue
This latest tune by our favourite scouse rap artist samples a sliced up Tenderly by Link Wray (one of our favourite songs from one of our favourite artists) which is just fuckin eargasmic mate. Lyrically amazing too

Bill Ryder-Jones - You Can't Hide a Light with the Dark
Bit of a cheeky one this; I've heard it's Bill's least favourite tune on his latest album but we love it (sorry Bill raspberry). The whole album's special and we're buzzing for the new one too.

Jimmy Lazers - Rudolph Cooper
The enigma; a man of many names; maybe the last true radical mind; it's Myers, baby and his cinematic piano music made on a children's keyboard; truly high art; honest; authentic - feast your ears

Terry Venomous

Brad Stank

Trudy and the Romance headline The Lexington later this month and tickets are flying out. Get yours now.
