Just as 2007 was looking to be 'the year of Kubichek!' the band have hidden themselves away to record one mind bending display of an album, and the first track to come from these inspiring sessions is a motivationally ruthless and commanding release that's going a long way to putting the Newcastle chaps on the ol' ones to watch radar.
The yielding riff that pronounces itself above the grinding yet agile guitars twists around your head trying to rationalize itself while constantly morphing into something else that's oddly catchy - despite not having what we'd recognise as a hook. The vocals are menacingly ominous and aggressive and with their trailblazing style of sick and scruffy instrument beating you're pulled into the depths of what this impeccably alluring song has to offer.
You could compare Kubichek! to other Newcastle based bands of a similar style but to try and harness their capability into a 'heard it before' category would be unfair as they've drawn from their influences, contorting and intensifying them into something new, harsh, vibrant and ultimately brilliant.
