Every Thursday we’re sharing NEW MUSIC THURSDAY featuring recent discoveries, new acts we're currently listening to and our tips for the future. Now more than ever we feel it’s so important to mine the corners of the internet to find some of the wonderful creativity that abounds… Check out this week’s below:
Based in London UMA is a classically trained violinist - starting from the age of four years old. She has since found innovation in the diversity of genres and has been inspired by various performers; she cites the likes of Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald, Florence + The Machine. Today, she shares a debut single “Standing in the Sun” taken from her forthcoming EP Bel.li, due on April 30 via Slow Dance Records.

RFB discovered this excellent new band a couple of months ago as they played for our showcase in January at Peckham Audio and supported Pottery at Windmill – definitely a band to watch out for.
Folly Group is an amorphous creative entity, encompassing a group of friends whose practice spans various disciplines. Live their members have all played in each others’ various projects over the last three years, and they see this band as a way of messing with form, structure and signifiers.

Norths is a British producer and songwriter operating on the fringes of idm, ambient and contemporary pop music. In support of Music Venue Trust, he released a collection of instrumentals including his latest 'No One Acts Like A Class Clown' via untitled (recs).

ELIO aka Charlotte Grace Victoria began writing songs when she moved to Canada from Wales as a child. Her debut EP is due for this summer 2020.ELIO’s upcoming EP features her first single “My Friend Online’ which premiered on the FADER and was supported by i-D magazine. ELIO has proved to be one of the most exciting artists to watch in 2020.

A timeless and unique songwriting talent, full of a mix of melancholy and hope, Sans Soucis' sound draws inspiration from a number of genre defying artists such as Laura Mvula, St. Vincent and Lianne La Havas. Her songs bridge the gap between the pop and jazz world, with an all-embracing soulful and folk flavour.
FOR FANS OF: Nilufer Yanya, Arlo Parks
Saint Jude is the alias of South London producer and songwriter Jude Woodhead. Jude’s self-titled EP was released in 2019 on Slow Dance Records, containing a blend of rolling ambient pop music and off-kilter indie tunes. Listen to his latest single “Keep The Light Inside The House” out last week.
