Performance - Market Street Everything Is (Polydor)

16 Dec 2006

"one of the greatest electronically minded songs to come out of 2006 so far. and there are only fifteen days of it left..."; release - '06

Performance - Market Street Everything IsPoets and electro-indie-pop pioneers Performance are back in tune with a track that makes The Rakes look like Athlete (zzzz...) as its surreal and speedy keyboard-whacks belt out this Manchester dancefloor anthem that moves past peppy electro into a rancid and filthy diktat of Energizer Bunny-like alternative trance.

Slightly too fast to dance to yet way too enthralling to bypass, this has to be one of the greatest electronically minded songs to come out of 2006 so far. And there are only fifteen days of it left. There's an album due out next year, and if this is anything to go by (which it should be, it's a single from it after all...), expect to be hearing more from the band that just months ago were parading 'Surrender' and 'Short Sharp Shock' around for all you tech-minded whippersnappers to engorge on.
