“A disappointing add-on,like getting a puncture repair kit for Christmas to go with that that shiny new bike you got for your birthday…”; release – 2011

Those notoriously festive types Radiohead have decided to celebrate the holiday season by releasing two tracks written during their King of Limbs sessions and recorded for the From The Basement series. The recordings have been cleaned up a bit from the raw live versions, but the track still retains a slightly unhinged feel that is unusual for the band given the pristine production on their last two albums.

The track is weaker than anything on TKOL, and it’s easy to see why it was omitted from the final tracklist, but it’s still Radiohead, which automatically makes it better than 99% of other music out there in my eyes despite some lyrics that lots of people might think are brilliant but are actually a bit shit. Having spoilt us with the quality of TKOL earlier in the year ‘The Daily Mail’ is a disappointing add-on, like getting a puncture repair kit for Christmas to go with that that shiny new bike you got for your birthday. Bah humbug.
