Get excited for the return of the Dreamland, Margate event

Having started with a glorious bang last year with an inaugural event headlined by the mighty Foals and Hot Chip, By The Sea Festival has now announced the first wave of acts for its second year at Dreamland, Margate.

Headlining the restored theme park in the picturesque coastal town will be Welsh legends Super Furry Animals and spine-tingling indie favourites Wild Beasts, with two more headliners still to be announced for the weekend. If that's not enough to whet your whistle, then long time RFB favourites Mystery Jets will also be joining the festivities alongside the celebratory world music of Ibibio Sound Machine, while Jagwar Ma will be bringing new material to Margate from their forthcoming second LP.

Want some tasty new bands? Fear not. If magical, experimental pop is your bag then look no further than recent Transgressive signings Let's Eat Grandma; if you're more of a soaring guitar anthems-in-the-making fan then you could do a lot worse than London girl gang The Big Moon; if it's stunning chamber pop you're after then Meilyr Jones is your man and if you want boundary-pushing songwriting then Anna Meredith's got your corner. And last but by absolutely no means least, we've got a couple of modern day indie legends: The Coral's wunderkind guitarist turned solo artist Bill Ryder-Jones and Hot Chip founder member Joe Goddard. Plus - of course - all the rides and the fun of the fair.

There's still a shed load more acts left to announce over the coming months, but judging by last year, tickets won't hang around for long.

Weekend passes go on sale at 9am, Thursday May 5th from HERE. Set your alarms...
