Alberta Cross - The Thief & The Heartbreaker (Fiction)

Alberta Cross aren't you're average band. Whereas the majority of upstarts these days seem to roll out from one of two factories: the gritty social commentators or the - now extremely common - nu-ravers, Alberta Cross are a far more... traditional offering.
Shunning the traits that the kids seem to be going nuts for these days, instead they delight in plying their trade in an altogether more wholesome genre, a sort of traditional country alt.rock act, Neil Young meets Ryan Adams meets Dire Straits. Each song is as endearing as the next, there is a warmth permeating through each track that only a genuinely talented band can exude, from the classic sound of 'The Thief and the Heartbreaker' (the kind of song that you are sure you've heard before) to the heartbreaking melancholic melodies sweeping through 'Ive known for Long', there is enough here to turn the most ardent glow-stick wielding impressionable.
Good things beckon for these guys.
