Kap Bambino - Blacklist (Because)

Kap Bambino are cool. No mistake about that. For one, they're French and one of them is a model. Still not convinced? They have been in Dazed and Confused magazine. They love vinyl. They have song titles like 'Dead Lasers' and 'Acid Eyes'. They perform electrifying live shows around the globe and rock the club scene all night long. Your parents don't understand their music. Wake up and smell the Zeitgeist. For this is pure electro punk with a dash of Kathleen Hanna, and a slice of Suicide, all served up in a polished noise-pop dish. I tell you, can anyone be cooler?

Still, you know what, ask me to name my favourite track from this cd and I'll stare at you blankly with washing machine eyes. Perhaps I am just a poor critic, but as the CD spins relentlessly it's the same nausea feeling I get from picking up The Daily Telegraph on day 542 of the MP expenses scandal.

A song? What song? As an experiment try listening to this record (obviously at full volume) non stop all day long. I promise you it'll drive you f**king nuts. Blacklist is like eating hundreds of chocolate espresso beans at midnight. You will think the whole world is a party. Sound good? Then do it. Do it now - just don't blame me when you feel sick with nausea and aching for a bit of melody and sunlight.
