The first 45 to be lifted from AYWKUBTTOD's most recent - and finest - LP, 'Source Tags & Codes', 'Another Morning Stoner' is a sensational, angst-filled furore of growling guitars, distraught drums and inspired yelling vocals from the ever-merry Conrad Keely.
The group's charm skilfully avoids being too clichι, or just simply mundane, via their fusion of epic dynamics and the concept of working it to a crushing crescendo. Hence, you get the full lavish string-arrangements which touch the heart, the gritty mess that scores points in the Sonic Youth-esque School of Cool, and that sheer urgency that prevents Trail Of Dead from being anything other than indisputably vital.
As this band's career progresses, and as their back-catalogue increases, this Texan act are one of the very few bets you can place where you expect them to improve - and this is why you should cherish them immediately.
