Wait, I know this: upbeat drumming, the scraping guitar, bold bass, chirpy singing... It's all strangely familiar...
Oh yes, it's the sound of a re-release, here in time to enhance the career for an act that have just gone through a surge of popularity and are now ready for a follow-up boost, a la Dandy Warhols, The Strokes, etc.
Following Alien Ant Farm's mega-hit, a cover of Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal', it seems right to prove to the masses that the group can write their own catchy rock that can appeal to kids and gig-goers alike. Thus, with 'Movies', the Farm have shown themselves to be the perfect purveyors of inoffensive, hummable guitar-pop - and they even have a 'whacky' promo-video to accompany the track.
Expect at least a top-ten hit, then.
