Badly Drawn Boy - 'Something To Talk About' (XL)

Taken from the soundtrack of the big-screen adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel 'About A Boy' (incidentally, also composed entirely by Badly Drawn Boy), 'Something To Talk About' is possibly Damon Gough's finest single to date.
A charming, Beatles-esque, piano-driven number, it's the musical equivalent of a roaring log fire on a cold winter's day; or, if you prefer, as comforting as BDB's idiosyncratic choice of headwear. Either way, a sparkling record.
